Believe it or not, the famous free to play, web based, cartoon shooter, Battlefield Heroes will now be delayed until the end of the year!

What we know….

During EA’s investor conference call today, EA CEO John Riccitiello stated that Battlefield Heroes would be delayed till the end of this year.

EA DICE’s upcoming free-to-play PC shooter Battlefield Heroes has been delayed and is now expected to arrive late this year, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.
The ad-supported, web-based shooter was previously expected to launch this summer. During a conference call today, EA CEO John Riccitiello revealed that the game is now “launching at the end of the calendar year.”

“We decided to increase its focus on some of the social networking features,” Riccitiello noted, stressing that the studio hopes to incorporate beta tester feedback and implement new features. “The last thing we want to do is jab it in the marketplace.”

Assuring News

The Comic Conference in Santiago this weekend brings some heartwarming news, the game seems to be coming along according to our intelligence located there (That Visited the Comic-Con)! Occurring to him, more and more people will be allowed into the closed beta, although he wasn’t allowed to take pictures, he says the graphics were “awesome”, and that the menu seemed very easy to navigate, and simple to use. He brought back even more  info on the closed beta found below…

Recently two new xfire skins have been released, both Battlefield Heroes related! They have been prepared for you below…

How To   Right click the “Download Now” link, and “Save Target As” Save the .zip file to the skins directory within your Xfire installation directory (i.e., C:/Program Files/Xfire/Skins/SkinName.zip). Once the download has completed, restart Xfire. The skin will then be installed. (DO NOT UNZIP)

Battlefield heroes is not released yet and will not be for some time either but the battlefield heroes community just keeps growing. There are even dozen of clans now that are already recruiting and setting up their sites and forum to be at full war strength when the game comes out. Your interested in joining a clan ? I gathered some links to clan sites so visit them and pick one. Most clans focus on one site royal army or national army look around a pick a clan you like.

It’s sad but true, there is already a aimbot for battlefield heroes.  On this site you can follow the updates about the aimbot for battlefield heroes. I truly hope EA knows about this and makes sure you can not use any kind of cheats or bots when the games becomes available. When a game is made for everyone and is not about getting shot in the face repeatedly by a swearing ultra skilled 15 year old boy who plays the game every day for 8 hours why would you want a aimbot then ! Keep it fun and I hope nobody will use this bot even if it does work!

Am i the only one that’s beginning to wonder whats EA doing ? We don’t hear a thing from them they don’t update and all they come with are ring tones and useless things nobody cares about. When will they finally give the community something useful like a release date or some news with real info about whats going on. Whats the point of a community site when they don’t use it did they pull the plug out of this project ?

Producer Alexander Grondal said the team wants Battlefield Heroes to run on your Grandma’s PC and — with a sub-250MB download and the ability to run on Intel’s anemic integrated video offerings!

IGN has a countdown on their site which is supposed to show the release date of battlefield heroes. Before you get in shock keep in mind this is the release date for the game and not the open beta. The counter can be totally wrong as EA/Dice stated the game would be released in the summer of 2008. As written before on this blog this is not the only release date that can be found on the internet 1up is also showing a release date and so we just have to wait and see whats true.

Another interesting detail is that the IGN website show different release dates for Europe and the US. But the European release date is already expired as it states Q2 the release date for the US is supposed to be Q4 like the countdown says.
